He Will Carry You

There is no problem too big God cannot solve it.
There is no mountain too tall He cannot move it.
And there is no storm too dark God cannot calm it.
There is no sorrow too deep He cannot soothe it.JesusCarryingyou

And if He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know my brother that He will carry you.
And if He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know my sister that He will carry you.

Lynda Randle

Some years ago in an attempt to get healthier, I joined a local gym. I would routinely get up at 4:00 a.m. each morning to do my work out before commuting one hour each way to the bay area for work. This particular morning was no different from the previous mornings, when I arrived at the gym, I felt especially good so I decided to do what is called a “drop set.” A drop set is when you progressively lessen the weight you are lifting.  I placed six 45 pound plates on the bar which is a total of 270 pounds. I cleared the bench, locked my arms and was able to complete five reps with ease. I was feeling really confident and pumped up so I decide against my better judgment to add weight instead of lowering the weight. I added two 25 plates to the bar, do the math I have just increased the weight to 320 pounds. I sat on the edge of the bench staring into the mirror attempting to psych myself out; I laid down on the bench, lifted the weight and quickly realized that this was different! Although I cleared the weight off the rack, and was able to bring it down to my chest, I was not able to push the weight all the way up to
re-rack it. In other words, I wasn’t able to complete the rep. There I was, all by myself with no spotter to assist me and not enough strength to clear the bar. I only had one option available to me, and that was to lay the weight across my chest and roll it down my body; so that’s what I did and man DID IT HURT!

I learned some valuable lessons that day, never lift heavy weights alone, always have a spotter; don’t attempt to lift more than you physically able. This is a life’s lesson, how often do we try to handle our problems by ourselves,
lifting/carrying the load of sin and despair alone. However we don’t have to go it alone, God is always there to do the power lifting for us. And when you fall or stumble He will be there to catch and even carry you!

Bearing Fruit by Jeff Carnie

apples

I once read of a little boy who used to escape his bedroom after being punished. He would crawl out of his bedroom window down an old fruit tree to the ground. One day, his father told him that he was going to chop down the fruit tree, because it hadn’t borne any fruit for a number of years.

That evening, the boy and his friend bought a bushel of apples, and during the night, tied those apples on the barren branches. The next morning, the man could not believe his eyes. He said to his wife, “Honey, I just can’t believe it! That old tree hasn’t yielded any fruit for years, and now it’s covered with apples. And, the most amazing thing is that it’s a pear tree!”

THE LION AND THE DOG: The blog by Jeff Carnie También en español véase más adelante

D.L. Moody one time saw a man beat his dog at a zoo one time because he was mad at him. He had made a bet and boasted about him being so obedient and when he tried to get the dog to so something he wanted, it wouldn’t do it and he lost his bet. He got so mad at that dog and just beat him and beat him and beat him mercilessly.

Finally, after he was wounded and bleeding and whimpering, he threw him in the lion’s cage so that the lion would eat him. And that poor whimpering, beaten, pitiful dog, standing shaking on his legs was in the presence of that great lion. And that lion came over to that dog and sniffed him and then he begin to lick that little dog and the dog laid down and the lion laid down there just keeping him warm and licking his wounds. And the man, after a little while felt sorry for the dog and told the man to let him have his dog back. And the person in charge of the lion cage who had seen him beat that dog said, “Fine, you can have your dog back. But you’re going to have to go in there and get him yourself!”

And that’s the way it is with me and you – we were…
–beaten
–bruised
–battered

By sins and sin, and now the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Jesus, has taken us in and has healed our wounds and now protects us from the enemy that once enslaved us!

EL LEÓN Y EL PERRO

The Right Side by Jeff Carnie

THE RIGHT SIDE

The story is told of a little girl who had lived her life in the city and was acclimated to the many street lights at night. She had opportunity to go to the country on a vacation. One starlit night, she and her mother stood gazing up into the sky without any street lights to conceal its aura.

The child was awestruck by its sparkling beauty. She exclaimed, “Mama, if heaven is so pretty on the wrong side, I wonder what it looks like on the right side!”

Imagine with me for a moment, what heaven might look like! Now, imagine being there!

Keep pushing toward the prize! I know I am!

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.     John 14:3 New International Version (NIV)

What Does Hope Do For Mankind?

Here is something I came across last week, I hope it blesses you as it did me!

What Does Hope Do For Mankind?

Hope shines brightest when the hour is darkest.
Hope motivates when discouragement comes.
Hope energizes when the body is tired.
Hope sweetens while bitterness bites.
Hope sings when all melodies are gone.
Hope believes when evidence is eliminated.
Hope listens for answers when no one is talking.
Hope climbs over obstacles when no one is helping.
Hope endures hardship when no on is caring.
Hope smiles confidently when no one is laughing.
Hope reaches for answers when no one is asking.
Hope presses toward victory when no one is encouraging.
Hope dares to give when no one is sharing.
Hope brings the victory when no one is winning.
– John Maxwell from Think on These Things –

Keep hope alive! Have a great week!
