A once in a lifetime opportunity to sing praises for our Lord and Savior at the famed Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Humbled and amazed, but not surprised by what God is doing with this ministry, “Jeff Carnie and Spectrum.” Our group is scheduled to sing on July 10th, ideally we would like to have all funds raised by July 1st. We appeal for assistance with grateful hearts, and faith. May God bless all that you are able to do for His namesake.

In His Grip,

The Ship Wreck

The SHIP WRECK

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him,  every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.

Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions. One day after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky.

The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. “God, how could you do this to me!” he cried. Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It came to rescue him! “How did you know I was here?” asked the weary man of his rescuers. “We saw your smoke signal,” they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn’t lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground–it just may be a smoke signal that summons The Grace of God.

Love Inc. Sacramento Benefit Concert

On March 3rd, Jeff Carnie and Spectrum along with the Spectrum Community Chorus and other artists, participated on LOVE INC’S annual fundraiser. From the first “word spoken,” until the “last note sung,” there was synergy in the room. My sense is that all in attendance was of one accord in terms of using their finances   and talents to assistLove Inc. in their continued service to those in need.

During the program, Jeff Johnson informed the audience that in spite of these economically difficult times, God has blessed his efforts with a consortium of 22 churches agreeing to support Love Inc. with volunteer assistance. This should be encouraging to all God’s people, witnessing the evidence of what God is able to accomplish when His people come together for His purpose.

For me, there is nothing more rewarding or fulfilling than serving God with the members of FBC’s worship teams. As their leader, it brings me pure joy witnessing these individual’s excitement as they utilize their time and gifts for such a worthy cause. I love standing on the sidelines watching the interaction of everyone. God has a way of building relationships between people as they serve others.

Spectrum and the Spectrum Community Chorus brought something special to the event that can’t be disputed. They brought muchmore than entertaining music, they ministered. People responded to group with hands lifted in praise, tapping of feet, swaying bodies, and tears. It is with gratitude and a grateful heart that I again say thanks to my music family. I can’t express my thankfulness enough. May God blesseach of you for what you do for His namesake!
